Additional drivers and extending your trip
Who else can drive, and how to make the rental longer
You can add up to three additional drivers to your booking at no cost, and you can extend a trip in progress up to twice. Both follow the same logic: they're put on record before they happen, so the contract tells the truth about who drives and until when.

Additional drivers
Up to three, at no cost. Each one has to meet what you met:
- Their own Vribe account, with verified identity and license.
- No suspension in force.
- Accepting the invitation before the trip starts, so they're named in the signed contract.
Anyone not named in the contract isn't authorised
This is the part worth not skipping. If someone drives who wasn't named in the contract, they aren't authorised to, and the consequences of an incident under those conditions fall on you.
Extending a trip in progress
The extension is requested from the booking while the trip is active. There are three limits: the trip can't be overdue, at least an hour and a quarter must remain before it's due, and at most two extensions can be applied per trip. The days you add are paid separately and depend on the vehicle still being available then.
Frequently asked questions
- What does adding a driver cost?
- Nothing. Approved additional drivers are free.
- Can I add a driver once the trip has started?
- No. The invitation has to be accepted before the trip starts, because that's what names the driver in the signed contract.
- Why can't I extend my trip?
- The most common reasons are that the trip is already overdue, that too little time remains before it's due, that a request is already open, or that you've used both extensions.
