Insurance, no fine print
Vribe doesn't insure your vehicle: we help you insure it and verify that your policy is active.
Your policy, your responsibility
Your vehicle must have active insurance under Guatemalan law. It's your policy, in your name — Vribe is not an insurer.
We verify and advise you
We check that your policy is active before you publish and guide you on what you need to insure your vehicle.
Deposit and inspection
You decide whether your vehicle asks for a deposit and how much. Every trip includes a photo inspection signed by both parties. If there's damage, the Vribe team reviews the report.
Vribe does not sell or provide insurance and does not cover damage with its own policy. Coverage in case of a claim depends on your insurance and its terms.
Doesn't your vehicle have GPS?
Vribe has a partnership with a GPS provider with a benefit for hosts. Leave your details and we'll contact you to connect you.
Frequently asked questions
Who pays for damage to the vehicle?+
Every trip includes a photo inspection signed by both parties, and you decide whether your vehicle asks for a deposit and how much. If there's damage, the Vribe team reviews the report. Coverage for incidents depends on your own insurance policy.
When do I get paid?+
You receive your payment once the trip is complete and the return is confirmed. Vribe pays you through the method you set up (PayPal, bank transfer or Western Union), based on your minimum amount.
Can I block dates?+
Yes. From your calendar you can block the days you don't want to rent — vacation, maintenance or personal use.
What if the traveler returns late?+
Vribe detects overdue returns and sends reminders to the traveler and alerts to you and the team. If your vehicle asks for a deposit, that amount backs charges for extra time or damage, which the team assesses.
Do I need insurance to list?+
Yes. Your vehicle must have an active policy under Guatemalan law. Vribe verifies that it's active, but does not sell or provide the insurance.
How much does Vribe charge?+
The entry commission is 18.5% and drops to 13.5% based on your trip volume. The traveler pays an all-inclusive final price, with no extra charges for you.
Instant booking or do I approve each request?+
You choose per vehicle. With instant booking the traveler books right away; with approval, you review each request and have 24 hours to accept or decline.
What do I need to get started?+
Your vehicle with up-to-date paperwork, your ID, the vehicle registration and an active insurance policy. We guide you through the whole listing and verification process.
