Responsible host

Being a host on Vribe carries responsibilities toward your community and your travelers.

🔧 Vehicle maintenance

As a host, you're responsible for delivering the vehicle in optimal mechanical condition. Perform regular checks of oil, brakes, tires and lights. Vribe will send you reminders based on the mileage recorded in inspections.

📋 Legal compliance

Make sure your vehicle has a valid registration card, mandatory vehicle insurance under Guatemalan law (Decree 12-2012 and its amendments), and that the vehicle passes its inspection when required.

💰 Tax obligations

Income generated as a Vribe host is subject to tax in Guatemala. We recommend registering as a taxpayer with the SAT if your income exceeds the limits set by the income tax law. Vribe can issue statements for your declarations.

🤝 Fair treatment of travelers

Accept booking requests without discrimination. Provide accurate information about the vehicle. Reply to messages within 1 hour. Deliver the vehicle clean, with fuel and at the agreed time.

🌿 Environmental impact

Consider the carbon footprint of your fleet. Vribe recognizes hosts who offer electric or hybrid vehicles with a special badge. Together we contribute to more sustainable mobility in Guatemala.

📸 Honest inspections

Take an active part in the pickup and return inspections. Don't hide pre-existing damage: both parties' photos and the AI inspection stand as evidence of the vehicle's real condition, and damage you didn't document at handover is hard to claim later. Hosts who act transparently build a better reputation.
